New Group Scarves
I hope you like your new scarves and have sewn on your new name tape. Please remember they are to be worn tightly rolled and stored on a hanger with your uniform top. Here is a video explaining how to roll and wear the scarf:
Church Parade
Thank you to all who were at our special church parade on 8th March where our new scarves were blessed and we took our new name of 29th Enfield. Now that 6th and 13th Enfield are now known as 29th Enfield we have renamed our website, facebook and twitter pages:
W: www.29thenfield.org.uk
F: www.facebook.com/29thenfield
T: @29thenfield
Our new email addresses are being used from now, just replace 13 with 29. The 13th Enfield addresses will still be forwarded to us while we get used to the change.
St George's Day Parade
Sunday afternoon 26th April 2.45pm (not 2pm as previously stated) in Upper Grammar School playground off Little Park Gardens. Map: http://goo.gl/AUjo5b . All Beavers, Cubs and Scouts in the district are expected to attend. Please put this in your new diary now! Attendance is mandatory. Parents will need to leave the playground as soon as you have can after leaving young people with us (unless you are helping). We suggest you line the streets though the Town and will be able to enter the Lower Grammar School playground via the Parsonage Lane/Baker Street entrance after the parade has been formally dismissed. We are planning to bring our trek cart which is a very old piece of group history, and quite unusual. It will be at the HQ for you to see after the Easter Holidays.
Group Camp 8th - 10th May 2015
This is the last week for booking on to this event! Electronic invitations to our fantastic group camp have already been sent out. you will find details under “events” in My.Scout using your usual login account or link. This camp is for all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts in our group. We have booked Well End Scout Camp near Borehamwood with plenty of great on site activities with site instructors. Beavers have indoor accommodation and are staying from Friday through to Saturday evening. Cubs and scouts are camping in tents and staying until Sunday afternoon. Cost is just £25 for Beavers, £30 for Cubs and Scouts which includes food and activities. Full details will be released via My.Scout and you will be able to sign up and pay online. Definitely no cash please for this as we would have to handle it, issue receipts to you and take it to the bank which is a huge task and impossible to keep track of during busy section meetings.
Term Dates
Last meetings this term are 27th March. and resume for summer on 17th April. No meeting for half term 29th May, last meeting of summer term is 17th July.
Troop Summer Camp
We still have a few places available. Full details in the presentation:
Contact James or Peter for more information and to book your place or respond to the electronic invitation. This is open to all scouts and older cubs who will be around 10 ½ by september 2015.
Thanks for all of your support,
Peter and the Leadership Teams
