Dear Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Young Leaders, Parents and Leaders,
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy and Holy Easter, and hope you are enjoying the break.
Meetings resume next Friday 21st April.
A reminder about St George’s Day Parade:
This year’s celebration is next Sunday, 23rd April. All members of the group are expected to attend. Full smart uniform is essential including school trousers/skirt if you don’t have uniform trousers/skirt. Long sleeve tops are required for Beavers and Cubs.
The start location has changed to the area in front of Enfield Registry Office on Gentleman's Row. Please assemble from 2:30pm for a 3pm move off. We should finish by 4:15pm at Portcullis Car Park opposite the Civic Centre in Silver Street. We will have a sign on a pole so we can be found at the start and finish and be identified during the procession.
The District have asked us to supply some adult volunteers to help with marshalling the parade. This would involve meeting for a briefing and to collect a hi vis jacket at Gentleman's Row, 2:30pm. You won't be able to walk with the parade but will probably have a close up view of the parade. Please let me know ASAP if you can help with this.
A reminder that termly subscriptions will be due Next week so please pay promptly.
Many of our activities will be outdoors this term so please keep a careful eye on the programme. Section programmes will be published on My.Scout and regularly updated, There is a facility on My.Scout to download and print the programme (for the fridge door) and also to link with your personal calendar for Google apps and I phones etc. Please make use of this. When we are meeting off site please consider car sharing. Also due to the forthcoming better weather, the children do remove their uniform tops from time to time, so please can you ensure the uniform including scarf are name labelled as we tend to get lots of unclaimed lost property at this time of year.
Cubs and Beavers have the option of wearing polo shirts instead of sweaters for the summer. Badges should only be sewn onto the long sleeve tops as this is the official uniform which will be required for parades. Long sleeve uniform resumes for autumn term.
Polo shirts are available here and at some school uniform shops:
