Dear Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Young Leaders, Parents and Leaders,
Welcome back from summer holidays, meetings resume on Friday 15th September.
Leaders are meeting this Friday to plan your programme which is an excellent opportunity to join the leadership team, please contact your section leader if you are interested. More help will enable us to deliver a more exciting programme. Uniform and training provided.
Termly subscriptions will be due on 15th September. Those moving from Beavers to Cubs or Cubs to Scouts will have to set up new Direct Debits in the payments system. Existing DDs will already be cancelled. Please arrange to pay promptly. Non payment after 3 weeks will result in termination of membership. Please discuss in confidence with your section leader as soon as possible if you have any difficulty with this.
All members are expected to attend church parades, once every half term at Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St George RC Church, London Road, Enfield. Full smart uniform with school trousers/skirt and black polished shoes. Start time is now earler, meet at 08:45 in the Parish Centre, entrance to the right as you approach the church.
12th November 10:30 - Remembrance
All aspects of administration are supported by the My.Scout / Online Scout Manager system. This is where you pay for subscriptions, sign up for any pay for events and view the programme, and badges. There is a self service area where you can update contact details, health information etc. Have your private link and/or create an account for easy access. Remember never to share your private link with anyone.
The primary method of communication for all sections is Email and we aim to respond within 1 - 2 days. This may seem a bit impersonal sometimes, but it is less intrusive on leaders lives than other methods. Leaders will of course talk to you on the phone when a conversation is more appropriate, however please do try to avoid telephoning leaders on Friday afternoons/evenings unless it is absolutely essential. Please try to communicate with well in advance to avoid last minute questions.
All previous emails are visible in My.Scout.
We do keep our website up to date with general information and newsletters: www.29thenfield.org.uk .
We have a private Facebook group to facilitate communication between parents and leaders. Follow this link to request to join:
If your query relates to a specific section please use their dedicated email addresses so the section leaders can get back to you (please don't send everything to your GSL!)
When replying to general emails please amend your subject line to reflect the subject you are writing about rather than just replying to a random email.
We operate an informal one way system by approaching via Halifax Road, and departing via Manor Road to help the flow of traffic. Please do not enter the cul-de-sac section of Halifax Road, do not park in the private car park for the flats and do not block access to the gates as this will require dangerous reversing manoeuvres and impedes safe pedestrian access.
There is a footway into Gordon Road which has easier access for vehicles.
Thank you for your help and support.
